Filming locations in Norway

Norway offers many breathtaking locations such as thousands of fjords, vallies, fields, untouched nature and not to forget the award-winning architecture in Oslo. In the north you‘ll find the magical northern lights and snowy crispy landscapes near Tromsø. While on the west coast there’s both vast nature and thrilling roads.

Filming permits in Norway

Filming in Norway is easy – no permits are needed if you’re only shooting hand held but you do need a permit if you’re planning to close off streets or put down equipment on the ground. Our local team in Norway can help out with applications and all necessary paperworks, should this be needed. If you are uncertain of whether you need a filming permit or not, just get in touch and we’ll figure it out.

The weather in Norway

Sørlandet is a true summer paradise! There you’ll find lots of islands, beautiful beaches, boating and kayaks gliding along at dusk. The Oslo region and the valleys of Østlandet also have warm summers, but it is often followed by a cold winter with snow in the mountain areas. In Fjord Norway, the weather is changeable to say the least. It happens that you get rain, sun, wind and even snow on the same day – almost any time of the year! In the spring, the fruit trees bloom, and when autumn comes, the leaves change color and the mountain sides are beautifully covered in yellow and orange tones. Here it’s a fairly classic coastal climate with a lot of rainfall, especially closest to the sea. Northern Norway is nice to visit all year round. In the winter you can experience the northern lights, and the midnight sun shines in full glory around the clock in summer.
