Filming across Belgium

A Belgian shoot may stay in one city or move between Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia. Short distances make several locations possible, but they do not remove the practical work behind each move. We look at access, parking, equipment, crew hours and the authority responsible for each location before the schedule is fixed.

Choosing a base

Brussels is a useful base for international arrivals and productions involving institutions, companies or contributors in the capital. Antwerp, Ghent or another city may make more sense when most of the filming is elsewhere. The right base depends on the locations and call sheet, not simply the nearest airport.

Locations beyond Brussels

Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, the Belgian coast and locations in Wallonia can add very different settings to a production. We scout for the visual brief while also checking unit access, holding space, power, parking and the time needed between setups.

Local crew and equipment

We can provide local producers, production managers, camera, sound, lighting, art, hair and make-up, runners and drivers. The crew and equipment package can be kept lean for an interview or expanded for a commercial, television or documentary shoot.

Permits and public-space filming

There is no single permit process for every Belgian location. Brussels has several communes, while Antwerp, Ghent and other cities have their own contacts and requirements. Parking, traffic control, public transport, drones and locations managed by separate public bodies may need additional approval. We identify the relevant route for each location and build the lead time into prep.

Working across languages and regions

Belgium’s multilingual setting can affect permits, resident communication, contributors and local coordination. We arrange the appropriate local contacts for the city and region where filming will take place, rather than treating the country as one production jurisdiction.
