Ewy Rosqvist was a noted rally driver with success around Europe, and she was recruited in April 1962 as the first female factory driver for Mercedes after previously driving for Volvo. In this documentary you’ll get to know rally driver Ewy Rosqvist and co-driver Ursula Wirth and hear Ewy’s story about how they crossed the finish line as winners in the race Gran Premio int. Standard in Argentina, and made headlines worldwide. Not only did they win the entire challenging race as well as all stages, Ewy also broke the race’s speed record. The distance of the race was almost 500 miles on public country roads through Argentina, starting and finishing in Buenos Aires. In the 1962 edition of the competition, 285 crews started, three drivers died and in the end only 43 crews finished.
