Spain is a fantastic country to film in. Here you’ll find fascinating and extraordinary nature like mountains deserts, forests, sand dunes, rivers and lakes. Did you know that Spain offers over 8000 km of coastline in three different seas as well as 3000 beaches, nature parks, tropical areas and flatlands? Spain also has a truly fascinating historical and architectural heritage that features castles, windmills, ancient walls, medieval villas, mountain and coastal villages, churches and chapels and forts.
In contrast to this you’ll find its modern and – sometimes – futuristic cities, airports, ports and stations. Barcelona for example, has always been a favorite place to shoot for many directors. Movie giants like Almodóvar, Woody Allen and the Oscar-winning director Alejandro Iñarritu has several times chosen the capital of Catalonia as the stage for their stories. Barcelona is a vibrant city that offers art, architecture and unique views that can enhance any story. As another example you have the capital Madrid that is the geographic centre of Spain. With its historic sites, green parks and vibrant cultural life, Madrid is a perfect city for filming. In addition, the weather is usually reliable as Madrid has 3,200 hours.
We value a very high quality, so our crew members are highly educated (licensed) and skilled. For both small and large shoots all over Spain we provide:
Producers, Production Managers and Fixers
Assistants and Drivers
Sound Operators and Gaffers
DoPs
Costume/Stylists and Make Up Artists
Set Designers
Locations Scouts and Location Managers
Talents and Casting
Depending on the scale of the production we are happy to provide staff who are trained to do several of the mentioned tasks, so they can cover more than one position on a project where the production allows!
Due to these perks, filming in Spain is quite common. The need for a permit varies depending on the size and type of a production. Having native Spanish speakers on the team, we can help out with applications and all necessary paperworks, should this be needed. If you are uncertain of whether you need a filming permit or not, just drop us an email with info about your shoot and we’ll sort things out!
