Production Services in Zurich

Zurich offers a varied mix of locations within one production base: offices and hotels, old-town streets, lakefront settings, residential districts and studios. Swixer provides local production support across the city, coordinating producers, crew, equipment, locations, permits, transport and shoot-day logistics.

Some schedules remain entirely within Zurich. Others use the city as the base for nearby lake towns or selected eastern-Switzerland locations. When the route crosses several Swiss regions, we coordinate the Zurich part within a wider production in Switzerland.

A compact city still needs a detailed access plan

Short distances do not automatically create an easy day. A company move can be quick once vehicles, loading and entrances are confirmed, but a sensitive office, busy public square or lakefront setup may need more preparation than the map suggests. We establish who controls each location and what the unit needs before the shooting order is fixed.

Offices and hotels are location jobs, not just bookings

Executive interviews and corporate films often depend on quiet access, confidentiality, security, lift capacity, power, holding and a realistic load-in. We handle those conversations with the location so the client, crew and equipment can move without turning a controlled interior into a public operation.

Public-space permits depend on the footprint

Zurich normally requires a permit when filming on public ground lasts more than one hour including preparation, involves more than five people or uses infrastructure such as lighting, camera track or props. The city asks for applications at least four weeks ahead, so the crew size and equipment plan should be clear before the form is submitted.

Trams, parking and short company moves

Vehicles cannot be treated as an afterthought in a compact centre. Road closures require at least 20 working days’ notice and parking restrictions at least seven working days. We plan the camera footprint, equipment drop, crew transport and next location together rather than assuming every move can be solved from the nearest street.

When the route continues beyond Zurich

Lake towns, countryside and other Swiss regions can extend the visual range, but the production base should follow the real route. Travel time, mountain or lake access, crew hours, weather and equipment movement decide whether the unit returns to Zurich or relocates for that part of the schedule.
